    Oracle TimesTen database

Does anyone have experience installing and configuring Oracle TimesTen database. We have a customer that is interested in using it, and I'm not familiar with it.
    Thanks.

    That is helpful.

I was looking for information on using TimesTen as a cache for large volumes of inserts going into an Oracle database. Is that possible, is that practical?

    Thanks.

    Hi

Yes using TT as the front end for your case where there are high volume of inserts is a perfect use case.

Then these DMLS's can be replicated to a datastore like Oracle RDBMS.

Many banks ,trading systems ,stock exchanges ,insurance domains use this when they have a IOPS requirement that cannot be met by traditional DBMS alone.

Times Ten can be used on the application tier and also be clustered in active passive mode and support JDBC
