    FYI, Regarding SQL Developer

    Hi All,

We are using 11.1.0.7 here, along with Linux 5.4 CentOS. But this post is regarding SQL Developer being used on a Windoze laptop.

In case folks didn't know, here are 2 interesting factoids I recently discovered:

    1. SQLD does not use drcp, even when it is configured and all other connections are successfully using it. I opened an SR with Oracle for this about a month ago, but so far they have not been able to figure out why it opens a dedicated connection and does not use pooling. My personal suspicion: something having to do with way Java is connecting to the database behind the scenes...

    2. SQLD also apparently cannot create a sqlnet trace file. This one has me stumped (and Oracle support as well) - I can create .trc files using the 11g sqlplus client (with the appropriate entries in the sqlnet.ora file), but when I connect using sqld .... nothing.

Very strange behavior if you ask me. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has noticed these sqld "gotchas".
