    OCFS2 for RAC

    Hi friends,

    Im a new user of OCFS2 on Linux RHEL 4. The EMC storage engr. configured 250Gb /u04 OCFS2 for our RAC set up, which is shared by 2 nodes.
    I tried to create a dir using > cd /u04 > mkdir oracle ....then it hangs up (freeze)
    Is the command above allowed for OCFS2 file?

    Can I mkdir /u01/prod/oracle to an ASM directory too?

    Thanks a lot

    Thanks Dave,

    But after a while its ok now....but I know it if it because the other node was shutdown.

    Can you help me with this one pls....
    I have an OCFS2 configured disk /dev/sdg1 ---> /u04 size 250G
    I want to configure this disk to ASM using:

    # /etc/init.d/oracleasm createdisk VOL1 /dev/sdg1

    My question is can I still save other ordinary files on this volume?
    As I understood ASM is used only for oracle datafiles and can be written only
    using RMAN.

    I am confused about Clusterware and OCFS2 are there two
    the same thing?

    Please shed light.....thanks a lot
