Can any body tell what will be the reason for this problem.

When is start up my system win2000 oracle 8.1.6 in was unable to log in to oracle.

I found out from the services that oracle service status as STRTING so i went to svrmgrl and issued the STARTUP FORCE.

Now i am able to login in to oracle sqlplus.

But now if i start the OEM Management server i get a error the service was not started in a timely fashion.

I am also unable to view the stop or start in the oracle service .I have also restarted and tried the same.
