I know there are three users in APPS .
    APPS , APPLSYS AND APPLSYSPUB.
what are they used for ? what is the difference between
    APPLSYS AND APPLSYSPUB user ?
Does APPS own all the application objects ?
do all the users like from AP,GL,HR connect to oracle as APPS?
I know that all this is probably documented ,but i am really
tied up for time right now and would really appreciate it
if somebody here could give me some answers .

    Thanks !

    Hi ddsouza

user apps has is not the own of all the application objects! it is the owner of all packages, functions and procedurs (as far as i know, and i'm in the bussines of oracle applications 2.5 years). apps aso has all other objects granted to him, and all objects have sinonim to apps. so, you get access to all objects in the databease from apps, includeing drop and access to sys tables! remmember this. every user tat has the apps password can have the allmost sysadmin powers, not all the power of sysadmin, but a lot of power. i can tell you that in 2.5 years i havent heard of people useing this power to do bad stuff.

second, in apps every user (inv,ap,ar,gl,...)has access only the tables hat where created under this user, as far as i know!

the oracle apps uses the apps/apps@___ as its own username password when running the packages as cunncorets, or in any other job it needs to do. so, before change password better remmember this.
