Hi,
We have installed Oracle Financials on HP-UX 11.0 box
and notice that some of the tasks are taking extremely
long time. We are using AP & GL modules.
When we called Oracle, we are told that it is upto
each customer to fine-tune some of the parameters
pertaining to their installation.
Do any one has any info. on fine-tuning Oracle
Financials on HP-UX 11.0 box ?
Thanks,
Hari

Hi,
We have fine tuned our oracle financials mainly in the area of shared pool, data buffers, sort area and latches. When we find expensive SQLs we ask the developers to look into it. Check the performance indicators periodically and adjust the memory allocations.
Give enough memory to ORACLE memory structures and you should be fine.

Hi hari
First, when oracle guys are telling you that the tunning is site specific, there i a point in what they say. if you take a look at gl.gl_code_combinations: this table comes with 2 indexs (in r10.7, and as far as i can remember in 11.03 as well). non of them is on the segment1-15. what you need to do is creat an index based on your chart of account's structur.
second, in the metalink youl find some stuff there. i can not tell you about AP, for i have no reall experience there. if you need any help , conact me at: [email protected]

Have a look at dbatoolbox.com. Not specific to HP-UX for APPS. But, gives you lot insight info which you can interpret for different flavor of Unix. Post back/email([email protected]) if you do have some info/tech papers/links...
