oracle 10g installation problem in redhat linux 5

I am trying to install oracle 10g in Redhat linux 5.
I created the seperate group and user , and I logged by the user.
when I execute the file 'Run Installer' file to start installation it shows 'Run in terminal', 'display',' cancel' and 'Run' , options. I select Run option , but there is no response at all.
I tried many times. But there is no response . What could be reason?

are you doing it from the Linux GUI? Is the DISPLAY variable set properly and tested? and is the X-server running?

    Thanks,

would you mind cross check your display once again? open the terminal and run 'xclock' and see.

Also, what are the versions of OS & Oracle ( 64bit / 32bit). In some cases Oracle will not allow to install 32bit Oracle on 64bit server.

    Thanks,
    Vijay Tummala
