Dear DBA/members
Can someone clarify this for me, I installed Oracle8 Enterprise on win2000. I can start the database using the instance manager/internal tool...however, when I attemp to run the OEM GUI, I get an error:
"Voc.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows'.
I posted this before and got only one comment suggesting that oracle8.0 may not be supported on win2000. Can anyone shed more light on the above error please? Thank you very much in advance.

To operate Orcale on Windows 2000 , you need to get Oracle Version 8.1.6 8i or later version ,, what is happening to you comes from that the release you are using is not compatible with windows 2000.

Trouble installing Oracle 8i 8.1.7 on Windows 2000
I'm unable to install Oracle 8i (8.1.7) Enterprise Edition on Windows 2000. Is this version of Oracle compatible with Windows 2000? Any help would be greatly appreciated

8.1.6 on Windows 2000
I've had Oracle 8.1.6 on Windows 2000 for several months. This is the first version that works correctly with Windows 2000. So 8.1.7 should work fine.

Do you have any other Oracle products installed on the machine?

Thanks for the reply; the problem I'm having is when I select Install/DeInstall option, the installer dies, simply disappears with no error message. I'm running windows 2000 professional ws not server also. Any ideas?

Do you have enough space in your hard drive?

I have 2.58GB free (out of 10GB) and 30GB (out of 30) free, both are FAT32. I was attempting to install oracle on the 10GB system partition, not sure if that's correct. There's where the installation problem occurs. I'm also not able to install onto the 30GB hard drive, either..
