Hi guys:
I have a db installed on NT (local machine, not a network)
When I invoke svrmgrl and say connect internal it asks for password. I use oracle as password and it connects. But I want to connect without being asked for password. I am able to do the same on another machine.. I checked the init.ora parameters of the 2 db's and they are alike.
remote_login_passwordfile = exclusive
os_authent_prefix = ""
What am I doing wrong?? and what should I do..
Thx..

You should be part of the ORA_DBA group to connect without password in NT.

Thanks : suri..
How can I make sure I am a part of ORA_DBA group in NT
-
I just checked in Metalink about ORA_DBA group and they say the same thing. But in NT, how can we check the same?
Thx.

check your NT manual about managing users & user groups
-
you need to go to "User Administration" in NT (it could be in Control Panel or NT Administration depending upon if you are using Win2000 or NT4.0 ).
You may have to create this group if it is not there.

hi,
in startmenu-programs-administrative tools-user manager for domains-see there in groups-ORA_DBA is there.
-
Are you a member of that group? If not you need to add yourself as a member.
