    Okay,

    See previous "rara" thread.

    I created a parfile...it still prompted me for all of the parameters...

    this is what I used in my parfile:

    userid=system/manager@databasename
    file=d:\exp_full_name.dmp
    show=n
    ignore=y
    grants=y
    indexes=y
    rows=y
    full=y
    commit=y
    destroy=y
    log=c:\nov10.log
    feedback=0

    I don't understand why it didn't work. Is it okay to put the "@databasename?" If it is not okay, how do I specify where the import is supposed to go.

    Thanks,
    Rara.

    Unhappy what was error?

    can you post the error?

    Do you have the LIstener set up on the server where you use @databasename?

    Also, Looks like you are running on NT Command Prompt. Is this the case as well?

    using win 2000

    Not really an error...well, it says "invalid user/pass"

    And, then, it prompts me for all of the parameters from there...it is as if it wouldn't go back and take any info from that parameter file.

    So...I am wondering...if there are multiple users, can I simply use "fromuser" and "touser" listings instead...will this import all of the database? If I list ALL of them?

    Thanks,
    Rara.

    Talking oh yeah!

    I have noticed that I always need to use FROMUSER/TOUSER commands. Try that and I bet it will work.

    I don't normally have any trouble using full=y...

    If it's saying invalid user/pass are you sure that Manager is the password you have set for the system user?

    Try to use 'service or connectstring' instead of 'databasename' in your userid. Yes, the original password for 'System' is 'manager if no one has changed it.

    Good Luck

    You guys!

    I made it work!

    I had to configure the correct paths for the files that are created during the import...it was a technical thing (rerouting drives, creating paths) between winnt and win2000. Then, the full=y worked!

    Anyway, I think I can do imports in my sleep, now.

    Take care
    Thanks,
    Rara.
