    How can I know I use TNSNAMES.ORA or Oracle Name server. Can I use both same time ? which one is better

    In sqlnet.ora

    names.directory_path = (TNSNAMES, ......)

    The first in the list shall be searched first.

    tnsnames.ora is simpler for small environment

    Names.ora is good for Distributed large environment.
