    Question

In the following status of a listener, what is "Service Summary" for? What's service handler? Why ORCL is different from orcl? Case sensitivite? (This is on Oracle816 on NT.)

    LSNRCTL> status

    Trace Level off
    Security OFF

    Listener Parameter File C:\Oracle\Ora81\network\admin\listener.ora
    Listener Log File C:\Oracle\Ora81\network\log\listener.log
    Services Summary...

    hepi has 1 service handler(s)
    ORCL has 2 service handler(s)
    orcl has 1 service handler(s)

Stop and restart and see those service handlers are same as before and go to listener.ora/tnsnames.ora and see you defined those service names.

Service handler is the one which takes request from client and pass response back to the client.

I guess ORCL and orcl are diffrent if you did define like that.
