hi, i don't familar sun,
i was wondering how do i know how many disk control
my sun machine have?

also when use df -k
it gives me information about CnTnDnSn, my question is
what is T? what exactly does "target" means.

what it shows here is logical volume. You might need to go Veritas volume manager (whichever you use) to see the controllers you have.

Usually there will be two controllers internal/external. I think big configurations might have more.

You can get the information from prtconf -v, but you have to know what you are looking for. For example, fibre-channel controllers look different than regular old SCSI controllers. Also, the sys admin can hide which controllers are begin used by using software based RAID. The best way is to ask your sys admin.

You can use an oracle utility (depends on o/s and machine) placed in ..$ORACLE_HOME/bin called: unixenv You will get all the disk-enviorment information
