hi,all

I am new to 9iAS, my question is
1.Does 9iAS a independent product, or i should go with
database?
what i mean is should i install database somewhere and
then install 9iAS at some other machine?

2. when install 9iAS standard Edition, it ask me to provide
database identiication, such as global databse name, and sid,
is this an existing database, or 9iAS going to create one
base on the information i provided?

Depends on what type of load and what version you will install. IAS Enterprise includes webcache and database cache, amoung others. If you are installing these, the install
ias on 1 box and db on another for optimal performance.

What tool is asking for the global/sid?
SEdition includes portal30 and portal-to-go.
