Anyone have a script for deleting obsolete backups in RMAN? I am currently deleting them manually every three or four days after running Report Obsolete in RMAN.
    Thanks,

I did according to the manuals, mark the backupset as delete and then run a file in $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/prgrmanc.sql which i think is very tedious. I am curious to know whether there is a simple way to get rid of all obsolete backup files in catalog too.

I just find it hard to believe there isn't a better way! This is so labor intensive, and if I forget to do it, I eventually run out of space and the backups fail. Obviously, I can schedule reminders to myself, but this just seems like such an antiquated way of doing things.

Come on all you experts out there - help us out!
