Retention time of data in the dynamic data dictionary views

How long are the data stay in the dynamic data dictionary views, i.e., v$session, v$sqlarea?

    Hi,
The dynamic views in Oracle, i.e., the V$ views, are exactly that, dynsmic. They are based on the X$ views, which are undocumented, and are directly mapped to specific portions of the SGA. As such, they reflect what's currently in memory. They don't retain history, and there is *no* read consistency.

    Hope that helps,

    -Mark
