    OUI crashes when trying to install 10gR2 server on Win7 x64

    I need to test something for one of our users running an old Oracle server version - 10g R2 x64. I can get the OUI running on Win7, but once I advance past the initial screen where you choose the Basic install options or an Advanced install, the OUI just vanishes. Has anyone seen this behavior before? What might cause the installer to just crash like that? Win7 is the oldest OS I have access to by the way, but even that I have to use compatibility mode on to get the installer to pass the Sys Prereqs.

    First, why are you trying to install 10gR2? You should try to do a 12.2.0.1 install instead, unless you really need 10gR2.
    I recall that there was a Windows bug related to 10g and Java. You need to edit the oraparam.ini and change a line.
    I don't remember what the change was, but try a different version of Oracle.
