Impact to Oracle Software After an Oracle 12c Migration

Hi,

What is the impact to legacy 11gR2 code with an Oracle 12c migration in terms of software? This is information to be socialized with software developers rather than database administrators and architects.

I'm especially interested in heraring from those who have a stable 12c environment.

We don't have 12c in production where I work. IMHO, most companies won't pay for multi-tenancy therefore for most companies the biggest difference is that the way users are created is slightly different. There are also additional options in writing SQL and PL/SQL that you can take advantage of but don't need to use. The optimizer is probably changed as well, and if you have a lot of saved execution plans you may see performance issues. But testing should show you what the issues will be for you application.
