    ORA-12514: TNS:listener error

    ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor.

    I am not able to connect to my database , as giving error ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor.

    Already checked teh TNSNAMES,Sqlnet and listener ora files.

    In order for anyone to help you they need more information than what you provided. What operating system and
    version of Oracle are you using? I am going to guess that you are using 10g with Windows, and that your Oracle
    Service is not running. I will also guess that you did not yet look at the alert log for this database and when you
    do look at the alert log you will have a much better idea as to what the problem is.

    If you really want help, you need to start with a clear description of everything that you did and saw relating to
    your problem and the environment that you run the database in.
