Cant start listener...

Hi,

I can't start the listener it sayas:

TNS Permission Denied when I try to start it from lsnrctl

i use Oracle 8.1.5 under Linux

and I am logged as the oracle user...(I have tried it also with with root but it won't start)

hi,
u should be checking the error number and check out the documentation on the details for the error, and connecting as root does not serve any purpose, oracle software is always (unless otherwise) owned by the oracle user.
