    RMAN backup time

    Hi, Iam a new bee to oracle database, may i know how much time will it take for RMAN complete backup of 100 GB oracle database with following server configuration.

    Server: Sun Server
    processes: 4 * 1 GHz
    RAM: 8 GB


    Time for backup on Disk?
    and
    Time for backup on Tape?

    As Davey says, it is impossible to say without testing. Depends on (in no particular order) your backup software , your network, your master and media server configuration/hardware, availability of tapes, amount of other backups running ...

    Yes, I agree it is difficult to say without testing. But this question is asked to me in an interview. So I have to be ready with this answer. Any help in this regard will be very thankfull.
