RAC issues
Hi Everyone,
tnsping racdb
Used TNSNAMES adapter to resolve the alias
Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = rac1-vip)(PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA =(SERVER = DEDICATED) (SERVICE_NAME = racdb)))
TNS-12560: TNS rotocol adapter error
I am not able to ping to Rac1-vip on node rac1, this whole setup is on vmware
and the versions are as follows
/crsctl query crs softwareversion
Oracle Clusterware version on node rac1 is http://11.1.0.6.0
ORACLE DATABASE VERSIOn:10.2.0.1.0
any suggestions are welcome, Thanks in Advance for your help.

can you post tnsnames.ora entry, where are you pinging racdb from?
Thanks

Can you ping the IP address of rac1-vip?
If you can alter tnsnames entry to use IP address instead of dns name.

Thanks for your reply sir. I tried to ping my VIP address which is 192.168.2.122 but no response. Is there any point I am missing?, I configured VIP explicitly with VIPCA and it is successful.
