    bakcp runs for forever

    Hi all,

    I am trying to take backup of Database on Oracle 10.2.0.4 on Windows 2003 but I cheduled backup job on EM but it has not been finished!!

    what would be the problem>

    Please guide!!

    WinDoze.

    Maybe you can try the standard WinDoze fix: Re-boot.

    Otherwise: 1) Direct the backups to a different disk than the data, 2) Use parallel task and 3) Do not do "compressed" backup.

    Did you look at the directory where the backup is writing to to see if anything is there? How do you even know that the backup is running. Did the backup error out? Is there a log file being created under the cover of Windows? Did you even configure the backup in EM? It looks like all of the psychics to the day off.

    i tried that still same issues:

    i get following message in trc file when i set up backup on OEM:

    is there a way to clear out everything and start setup the backup again? if so please let me know.

    So you looked at the D:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ADMIN\SDE\UDUMP\sbtio.log file? Is it trying to write to a directory that does not exist? What's in the sbtio.log file?

    i checked the log file and there is nothing in that file it is empty

    Cool Tape or no tape, that is the question.

    Seems you configured your backup in EM to go to tape (SBT) and it's not finding the correct settings (or something).

    But the RMAN configuration does not show the tape backup (SBT) at all..

    How can i clear whole setup and create new backup setup?

    Please help!!
