WinDoze.
Maybe you can try the standard WinDoze fix: Re-boot.
Otherwise: 1) Direct the backups to a different disk than the data, 2) Use parallel task and 3) Do not do "compressed" backup.

Did you look at the directory where the backup is writing to to see if anything is there? How do you even know that the backup is running. Did the backup error out? Is there a log file being created under the cover of Windows? Did you even configure the backup in EM? It looks like all of the psychics to the day off.

is there a way to clear out everything and start setup the backup again? if so please let me know.
-
So you looked at the D:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ADMIN\SDE\UDUMP\sbtio.log file? Is it trying to write to a directory that does not exist? What's in the sbtio.log file?
-
i checked the log file and there is nothing in that file it is empty

Tape or no tape, that is the question.
Seems you configured your backup in EM to go to tape (SBT) and it's not finding the correct settings (or something).

Why start a new thread ???
-
But the RMAN configuration does not show the tape backup (SBT) at all..
How can i clear whole setup and create new backup setup?
Please help!!
