    TNS-01190: The user is not authorized to execute the requested listener

    Hi all
    Need a help with this listener.
    I checked the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora file and everything looks good but I am having issue with the listener.

    lsnrctl stop LISTENER_Q1HMPRD

    TNS-01190: The user is not authorized to execute the requested listener command

    I also queried lsnrctl SERVICE LISTENER_Q1HMPRD and listener is not registered with the database.

    What can I do to remedy this issue?

    Have you connected with the OS user who owns oracle? Any changes with the OS administrative privileges to the OS user who owns oracle?

    Ora10g, isn't it?

    You have to issue listener commands logged into the system as the software owner account.

    oracle user owns the files. and I logged in as oracle why would it say that the user is not an authorized user to execute this command?
