/oracle/system01.dbf is not a datafile - doesnt that make sense?
-
hi sir,
I have took hot backup of all .dbf file correctly .. but still its showing same error. I don't know Y?
pls help me.

Just to make things painfully clear, if you type "ls -l /oracle/system01.dbf" Unix will return file not found. not found because that is not where the file is stored. And why would you store the system datafile in /oracle??? That makes no sense. Perhaps you would find the file in /oracle/oradata/kesdee, or /oracle/db/kesdee, or even /oradata/kesdee. Find the datafiles and make sure that the paths to all of the files are correct and recreate the control files again.

Hi
I would advise you to hire a DBA.

what you are trying to achieve? Why do you want to edit the .dbf file?
What is the present status??

Who's trying to edit what? May I ask where did you find that piece of information?
Poster is already confused to dead and you come out of the blue with such implicit statement, why?
