Hi : I have a system setup running perfectly..(fresh one)
No Archive log mode.. Locally managed TS..
Enough disk space.. < 2 users anytime (testing system)
At a ceratin point when i try to insert, oracle simply hangs and does nothing.. auto extend is on and when i check for the dba_free_space the TS is not listed(should I worry)..
Even otherwise I try to create a datafile, it doesnt repsond..
Simply hangs at that point..
Any clues any direction??
Thx..

A locally managed ts is never listed in the data dictionary. Check on Metalink for this problem and ensure that there are no bugs involved. Try to bounce the db and/or the server.

Did a reboot on the server as well Halo..
Did bounce the db a few times..
Thanks for the tip on locally managed TS.. I thought so, since it is managed locally it would not show as a dictionary item, but how is it that many of my other TS show up..
Anyway now the problem on hand is different..
Please refer any other clues and probable causes for that..
Thx

What is the Oracle version and OS type?? Do you have access to Metalink??

Have a read on this column on 'locally managed tablespaces' something might strike you to resolve the problem.
