Need Help in Control File
Hi,
i have a flat file to be exported to database say 123.txt which have id,party_no,email_addr fields.
my data looks like this
123 1234567890 UNUSED
234 2345678901 UNUSED
i wanted to load this file in to say test_abc table.
i have another table test_xxx
it contains the fields party_no,email as follows
1234567890 xxxyyy@yahoo.com
2345678901 aaabbb@yahoo.com
wat i needed to do is i want to create a control file which loads email field in test_abc by selecting records from test_xxx where party_no is same.
Can anybody help with the control file?
Thnx..,

Shall we understand you want to load it into the database?
If Yes and since your business requirements call for some data manipulation I would explore "external tables" instead of plain sqlloader.

Call the DBA to create one for you and give you read/write on it.
Otherwise, you can always load the data into a staging table "as they are" and later transform and send them to another table
