    Question Sql Plus Oracle Question

A friend of mine has this issue. Usually he is able to run a sql file from the command line using

he did a reinstall of his oracle client and says when he tries to run the file now

it opens up in notepad! rather than on the sql command line. Any one know why that is?

So this is a windows host? Is he running that command from within sqlplus or just the windows command prompt?

    Here is a theory...

Usually your friend had open sqlplus and logged into the database before issuing his @/path/file.sql

Now your fried is just typing @/path/file.sql at the MS-DOS prompt.

    Ask him to check,

    Two possibilities:
    1) is he opening a .sql file from windows?? then what he did is right
    2) Is he running the .sql file from sqlplus/sqlplusw and it opens as a notepad before doing an edit, its weird
