    Talking

I have users who wish to hold payroll data on an Oracle DB.
Is it possible to stop the Oracle DBAs and the UNIX Administrators from actually viewing the data?
The DBAs should not be able to see the CEO's salary but perform all standard functions on the DB.
Other than encrypting the data at application level is there a product out there or an Oracle feature which will stop the DBAs??

If a user has DBA privilege , he can see/modify any data in any table. You cannot stop him.

It is better to publish the CEO's salary (in fact every one's salary) on the notice board, so that other workers / staff might think/ understand how the CEO worked hard to climb that post, and they will also try to work smart to reach the highest level.

The more you hide the more digging will start.

Good Solution with Inspiration... Only problem could be there won't be any staff left in that firm after a while. Everyone will be CEO ...
