Full database export hangs

Dear All,
I am trying to take a full backup using the following but it failed with the following errors

C:\>exp 'sys/gateway@raiwind as sysdba' file=c:\full_raiwind.dmp full=y log=c:\log1.log

Can anybody guide me in this regard?

I am not sure what is that for, but I am sure Oracle does not support exports when connected as SYS.
Please try with SYSTEM

Yep
faced the same type of error whille doing full export with sys.System has to be used.
