estimate time to migrate Oracle apps 11i database(8.1.7) to 10gr2

Hello,

Has anybody here experienced migrating an Oracle apps 11i database version 8.1.7 to version 10gR2? Can u give me a rough estimate how long will it take to migrate database 40g in size? Databse in on HPUX platform..

Are you going to upgrade the application too?

time depends on the enabled apps modules, customization and the number of objects. Test the upgrade before doing with the production.

depends on your box. My similarly sized db was upgraded from 8.1.7.4 to 9.2.0.7 in about 12 hours on a 2way Sun box with really slow disks.

Im only going to upgrade the database. Yes, I will do the upgrade first on the test server. I need to have a rough estimate so that I can draw a timeline for my activities.

For anyone who has experienced of migrating one, can may i know how long does it take?

Which apps version are you in?

Check whether 10gR2 is supported by your apps version.

It took 33 hrs for me to upgrade with 12 modules with less customization, 30k objects with 4 processors and 4gigs RAM on solaris.
