    Temp tablespace

We can Create temporary tablespaces by using the CREATE TABLESPACE or CREATE TEMPORARY TABLESPACE.In oracle docs, more details about this is not given,so explain me,

What is the difference between these two methods of creating temporary tablespace?

What is the pros & cons of each method?

if you do create tablespace temp datafile ........ temporary it uses datafiles for the tablespace.

If you do create temporary tablespace temp tempfile ... it uses tempfiles

During a backup (rman) it will backup the first one, wont the second one

You should always use create temporary tablespace command

I suspect that "create tablespace temp datafile ........ temporary" is retained only for backwards compatibilty with versions before v8(?). I can't see the need for it otherwise.
