    Hello:

I am new to this forum and Oracle. I am running some .sql scripts which were written by previous DBA's. The same script is having a problem to run this month. The error message is as follows:
ORA-12805: parallel query server died unexpectedly
Can some one please guide me as to how to resolve this issue.

Thanks for all the help in advance

Are you running on version 8.0.6? I was getting these same errors and there was a patch that fixed the problem. You may try setting your query server timeouts higher to make sure they aren't timing out due to the query server waiting for input from another process.

There's usually an underlying reason why the PQ process died. Look in your alert.log, bdump, or udump for trace files.
