Redo Log / Checkpoint not complete

    Hi,

During the replication process I get excessive checkpoint not completes on my 10gR2 on Red Hat Linux 4.0 system

I have 5 redo log groups with each with redo logs sized at 300MB.

This happens only during the refresh group's refresh process.

Should I add more groups and/or increase the size of the redo logs or is something else wrong here.

    Thanks
    Ron

    Thanks Jeff,

Is it bad to have many log groups with redo logs sized at 500 MB. I know that one of the issues is the recovery time but other than that.

This heavy activity is only during the MV refreshes. At other times its perfectly fine.

You need what you need, right? I have several databases that have 1G redo logs that I need during heavy time periods. I also have a script that makes sure I switch every X minutes. That way, I get the best of both worlds; a big redo log and I know my logs will not be more than X minutes old during recovery.
