password to run setup.exe in oracle 9i
I am new to oracle. I have downloaded the Disk1, Disk2 and Disk3 file that will enable me install oracle 9i on my system, but when I tried to run the setup.exe file in Disk1, it asked me for user name and password. The default username are 2. My name and administrator. But I dont know what password to use with any of these usernames
Can anyone help pls.

that is something you have set up on your os - nothing to do with oracle
are you logged in as an administrator?

I did not put an administrator password on my system. Anytime i log in , it doesn't ask me to put password , instaed it just boot to windows.
I am really stuck!

Thanks for your concern. I have solved the problem of the password. I have been able to put in a password now but the only problem now is that as soon as I put in the password and click ok to run the setup.exe file
nothing happens
can you help in this area please. My operating system is windows xp starter pack 2. Do I have to partition my systenm in order to install oracle 9i.

Pentium 4? Try renaming all occurrences of symcjit.dll to symcjit.old and try again. Good luck.
