    Temp tablespace

    Hi all,
    we have the issue with temp tablespace,its frequently getting the error ora- 01652 unable to extend the temp tablespace .This temp tablespace is locally managed and its size of 8 GB.Is anyother way to clean the temporary segment manually something the option available for dictionary managed tablespace.

    When we query the view v$sort_segment,used space is zero.During this error message ora- 01652 getting.

    why not find the cause and find the querys using lots of temp space? Or maybe 8gb just isnt enough for your needs

    Bouncing the database will clear down the temp segments

    Could you please copy the exact error message (a temp segment is not always in the temp tbs)
    ORA-01652: unable to extend temp segment by string in tablespace string

    Also please specify which DB version you are using
