    Weird materialized view

    Dear all,

    I am using Oracle9i Release 9.0.1.0.0.
When I create a materialized view in database, it prompt out that the object already exists.

So I want to drop the mview and recreate it. However the the error "ORA-12003" prompt out and said the mview doesnt exists.

When I select the object from dba_objects, the mview is existed but the status is invalid. However, the mview doesnt exists in table dba_mviews.

I dont know what happen and what have been doen before. How can I remove the mview now?

you probably had a MV created on a prebuilt table, which would have the same name. Drop the old table then create the MV.
