    ORA-01935 during alter user

    Hi,

    when i alter a particular user i am getting this error.

    alter user scott identified by tiger

    ORA-01935: missing user or role name
    But for other users it is working fine

    can somebody help

    Make sure user scott exist in database. Maybe it was created with upper case letters. In that case you many want to use double quotes around SCOTT.
