How to apply security patch#68 on win-2000

What is the patch number for oracle security patch#68 on WIndows-2000

Now iam planning to install oracle 8.1.7 on Win-2000 then patch it to 8.1.7.4.1 and apply security patch#68.

my question is does security patch#68 need oracle database ? or can i simply apply security patch#68 after patching oracle from 8.1.7 to 8.1.7.4.1.

Could someone explain me how should i go ahead

All the previous patches required 8.1.7.4.1 and if you dig deep enough you'll find Metalink Note 161549.1 which says that the latest patch 8.1.7.4.20 does too. (It looks as if they have AT LAST made a civilised installation package - none of that error-prone file copying by hand nonsense - I've not tried it yet).

    So I would:
    1) install 8.1.7.4.0
    2) apply 8.1.7.4.1 (runs like the installer)
    3) apply 8.1.7.4.20 (IMHO, unless someone knows that this is buggy, no point installing any lower version).

If you have an 8i database already, then the patches (should) run the necessary changes on it (you had to do this by hand at least as far as 8.1.7.4.16). If you don't a db, then any db you create after the upgrade will be just fine.
