    snapshot too old??

    I run Oracle9i with undo_management=AUTO

I execute a stored procedure and i got this error:
ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 1 with name "_SYSSMU1$" too small.

    How is this possible?

There is enough space in Undo tablespace!

if you have enough undo you can set it to whatever you want. Why was it set to zero??

Don't discount issues with your stored proc also. I.e. commit across cursor fetches, and maybe even commiting too frequently.
