    If you start inserting rows, obviuosly the tablespace needs more space to store it.
    Did you calculate (approximately) how much space is needed for each object in the tabelspace?
    Did you modify PCTFREE value for any of the objects?

    hi tamil,

    I didn't calculate how much space i needed to allocate in tablespace. Even i didn't define any PCTFREE value for objects.
    Iam just using default tablespace as users. I am just incresing the tablespace by

    alter tablespace users add datafile 'path' size 80M autoextend on;

    How to solve this problem. I am using oracle 8i version.Help me..

    use the following to check the Maxbytes on users tablespace.
    sql>select file_name, autoextensible, user_bytes, maxbytes from dba_data_files;
    From which u can know why the next increment is not allowed and u are getting the error.The alternative is add another datafile.
    Still more explanation is there on this link
