    should dba do oracle installs

    Should the dba do the oracle installs or should the server people do them without the dba involved?

    DBA should lead the effort. OS admins are for mounting ing cd's and creating Oracle account -)

    As a programmer I would have to say if you let the Sys Admins do it, then you might not need DBA's.

    Ok. If Sys Admins could do it then they would be DBA's, Jeff, Steve, I hope you are happy now.
