Create User In Solaris
Hey Gang
I need help with following:
1)I would like to create a user in unix and allow him/her to log in.
2) I would like to check user privliges and if need be revoke some.
The practice book I am using said the following:
For example, to create a directory for a user with a login name of smith
type:
# mkdir smith
Type
chown smith smith and press Return. The user now owns the home directory.
I have an error
chown: unknown user id smith
You can tell that I am new to this unix thing right?

Which version of Solaris? admintool is on 8, smc is on 9, but useradd works on both.
