    oracle 8.1.7 on windows XP

    Is oracle 8.1.7 can be installed on wondows XP?

    It not starting installation.any settings have to be done.

    You probably have a Pentium4 processor and the 8.1.7 supplied installer have a problem (a bug) with those type of processors. You first need to get a patched installer and then start instalation with it.

    you can do it but it's not supported, only the client is for that version with xp

    If I remember it correctly, all you have to do is replace a file on your windows Oracle Software with a newer version from the patch. (Copy/Paste)
