We are upgrading our OS to Solaris 8 but staying with Oracle 8.0.5. Is this two are compatable? Like to hear some input if your using Solaris8 and Oracle 8.0.5.

    Thanks

8.0.5 is certified on 2.8, but is not supported. 8.0.6 is the only version of Oracle 8.0 that is supported and that support expires sometime next year.

    Hi Marist89
You work or have worked for Oracle, right?
Certified is an internal term, for customers the only term is Supported.
This is to avoid confusion ;)
    See ya!

Nah, I just got in an argument with a Support analyst at Oracle one time and he weaseled out of the explanation by saying that my Oracle version was supported but not certified on my OS version...
