    TNSLSNR.exe error

I have Oracle9i running on win2000 for servral months, both listener and OMS worked well.

Today, suddenly I got an error:

"TNSLSNR.exe has generated errors and will closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created " .

Then I found both Listener and OMS could not work.

What I did on my workstation last 2 days:
When I visited some websites today, it automatically installed a program named "AD-voucher", then I got "TNSLSNR.exe" error, is that possible those bad programs affected Listener? I already removed those programs, but no use for listener.

I installed Oracle Designer yesterday, it shares the same oracle home with OEM,
I don't think this is the reason, becuase Listener still worked well after re-start my workstation this morning.

    Totally confused!
    Thanks for your help first!

Ooh betty... sounds like a right pickle...

Is there any error messages in your listener.log that might give us some clues?

Sorry, I have to divide them into two parts, it is oversize for the message box.
I have 4 databases here, OEMREP is the repository(OEM) for our production database, it is important for me. The other 3 databases - "newyork", "paris", "shanghai" just my testing databases.

    Many thanks!

Next time try attaching a file with you log rather then pasting all that output

For the heck of it ... I've have a couple of clients that I found lately with problems with their service not starting ... I tracked it down to AUTO updates of Windows ... Patch 835732 was the culpret. Once they removed that patch, everything was ok... Check to see if you have this Microsoft patch loaded...

    Hi Gregg,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I removed the patch KB83572, still got the TNSLSNR.exe error log when my workstation loaded. And got more trouble -- my environment init file lost.
    The error log says:
    "userinit.exe
The Ordinal 175 could not be located in the dynamic link library USERENV.dll."

Now, I have to wait our sysdba to solve the problem.
