    Hi Friends

    I am seeing some problem in My Alert file i.e.,

    Sat Nov 18 12:13:20 2000
    Errors in file h:\ORANT\RDBMS73\trace\ORA00274.TRC:
    ORA-12571: TNS:packet writer failure

    why is this.Is this a serious one?Is there any way to resolve this problem.

    *Cause: An error occurred during a data send.
    *Action: Not normally visible to the user. For further details, turn on tracing and reexecute the operation. If error persists, contact Oracle Customer Support.

    did the smon also crash?, if so check the smon_0... file for what caused the error. Looks like some network issue. Is this the first time that it had occoured? if so, you could safly monitor it.

    I am seeing this error once in a few days.My database is v7 running on Windows Nt.
