fragmenting question
i have a table with about 5K rows and one of the attribute is BLOB. i want to add another BLOB attribute...if i just alter the table and add a new one will this cause any fragmentation? if not now, will it over time?
thanks!!

Framgmentation now with the latest version of oracle is like Myth which came from Oracle 7.0. Even if there is fragmentation it will not cause any problems for your application/database performance. Do not worry much about it.

the fragmentation i am refering to is with regards to object and or tablespace fragmentation. i don't know if these are effected by what i am asking...hence my post. but for a definition...this is what i am refering to. yes oracle db.
