    HUGE number of reads on System TS

    Hi!
    I'm seeing some strange behavior on one of my DBs. In 5 days, we have had over 3.5 Million reads on the System Tablespace. This is over 60% of the reads!

    What could be causing this? We only have SYS/SYSTEM/OUTLN objects in the tablespace.

    Is there a way to find if there is a "hot" object?

    Oh, this is 8.1.7.4 on AIX. So, I can't use v$segstat.


    Any help would be appreciated.

    Nevermind - I found the procedure by looking in v$sqlarea.
