How to make standby server on remote locations

    Hi
I have a DB server running on Oracle version 8.0.5 running WINDOWS 2000 SERVER and another DB SERVER same specification Running in a different city.

We have a 3MB/sec VNC LINK between the two places.

I have to make standby server of first location on second location.
I have to use sustained Recovery mode.

I have done this thing on LAN and have been successful.
    They are working fine.

But I'm a little nervous becaz of remote Locations of the server.
Does anybudy else has done this.

I'll really appreciate any help and suggestion in this regard.

P.S. Also if u make the standby DB read only in case of PROD DB crashes. Can we get standby DB back when prod comes online.
Or we have to do all the steps again to make another standby DB
    Regards Zeeshan!

are you conncerned about running in guaranteed no data loss mode?

Also if u make the standby DB read only in case of PROD DB crashes. Can we get standby DB back when prod comes online.

read the manual, you can switchover and switch back , you can failover but you can't fail back
